Dali is an older male greyhound or galgo. He was used as a racing dog and then abandoned at a local canil. In the canil he was attacked and he came out full with bitemarks, he had sarcoptic mange as well.
He was brought into our care in March 2012, at first he was a bit overwhelmed, scared, and no idea what was happening to him.
But Dali is so extremely gentle, affectionate and friendly. He walks off lead everywhere and stays by your side. Dali has come around tremendously, all his wounds have healed, his sarcoptic mange has been cured, and after months of not gainning any weight, he has finally started gaining weight, and seems very happy in his new life. If you come to visit us, there is no doubt that Dali will be one of the first dogs running up to greet you and wanting a pat.
Dali has a hernia on his spine (very likely originating from his prior life as a racing dog), and needs regular medication to keep him going and happy. He is a great character, gets on with all the dogs and cats, and if he sees visitors arriving he will try everything to get a cuddle and attention.
Dali is looking for sponsors to be able to afford the medication he requires on a regular basis. Dali did have a home waiting for him in Germany, unfortunately with his hernia there are no possibilities for him to travel, he cannot be locked up in a transport box for hours on end with his painful back. So he is happily staying with us where he is happy and very much loved.
We need your help to be able to offer Dali the care and comfort he so badly needs in his old age. We estimate Dali was born in 2004. For a complete photo gallery of Dali and his time with us please click here.
