How We Are Trying To Help

All dogs that come under our care will be sterilized. We do not rehome any dog over 6 months of age (either here or abroad) without first being sterilized. It is required that all adoptants of puppies or kittens, who are too young to be sterilized, are sterilized as soon as they are old enough. Future help is offered with the payment of the sterilization for any such puppy or kitten.

We offer and pay for the sterilization of as many dogs and cats as we are able. Unfortunately, we are limited by funds but we will do all that we can to continue to help in this area.

On Friday night October 7, 2011 SOS Algarve Animals held our first fundraiser with all proceeds being allocated to the sterilization of abandoned cats and dogs of the Algarve. It was a lovely night, and over 150 persons joined the event and showed their support, with almost 4,500 euros being raised. As a group dedicated to finding homes for cats and dogs, we know that finding homes is only a short term solution to a very large problem. Our hope is that in 2012 we will continue to fundraise on behalf of sterilizations and will be able to implement a large sterilization campaign that provides sterilization for abandoned animals or shelter animals at reduced costing by funding a mobile hopsital unit.  More information will be available soon.
