Loule September 2021

In September 2021 when having a coffee at pastelaria in Loule, we came upon a friendly, unsterilised street cat. One of our volunteers investigated a little more and we authorised the sterilisation of initially 12 cats; a guesstimate because not all cats showed them selves when our volunteer was there.

During the month of October she was able to catch, sterilise and return 12 cats from this location. So far 12 females have been caught, sterilised and returned, and 2 males! Imagine the number of unwanted kittens would we not have sterilised this colony, 12×5 kittens, 60 kittens will not be born!!

There are 4 more cats in this colony. We will authorise the sterilisation of these as well. So then a colony of 16 will be controlled and much less of a worry! Our vet bill for these 12 cats will be 12x € 50,00 = € 600,00 with another 4 cats to add!
