Rehoming --- Important info
=====================

Mainly cats and kittens which came or are coming in from colonies / street / abuse

Please note that SteriliseOurStrays is no longer adopting out these cats/kittens for miscellaneous reasons:

1. No financial budget available
The only money we have is thanks to DPDSAA for sterilisation and one dewormer/ defleaing treatment. There is no money for microchipping, no money, food, for vaccines, etc.

2. No extra time available
It is time consuming emailing and organising. I have enough work with over 1500 cats needing help with sterilisation so far. People don’t reply 9 out of 10 times unfortunately, when you have written a nice email to them on the kittens (at their request) and then there is nothing. That precious 15 minutes could have been used on sterilisation etc.

3. Not enough hours in the day as it is
The driving, vet appointments, picking up traps and cats, washing and disinfecting all the equipment and washing dirty towels, dropping off traps and cats, emailing, phone calls, admin, catching cats and having a private life.

We have had some kittens from different situations for rehoming. All are ‘visible’ because of our sterilisation efforts, and we are so grateful for that. These precious souls all deserve a soft and loving landing.

But unfortunately, for reasons above we can no longer help unless someone steps up and helps with the rehoming side. Still the budget is zero!

SOS, thanks to DPDSAA, can pay for the sterilisation and one de-wormer and de-flee treatment. And that is it.

If there is someone who can help out and take over the rehoming efforts we will have, please do send me an email, would love to hear from you. Often kittens will come in with an eye issue and need vet care, for this we shall have to raise funds too! But very often these kittens cannot be returned to where they came from

Info@sosalgarveanimals.com

As it is hard to return some of these animals into a situation where life will be short and hard, there will always be animals in need of rehoming and your help will be much appreciated. The reality of a feral/colony cat is not a nice one..

Thank you for understanding
Ginie

Fuseta 2 cats, a female and a male caught neutered and released again!

8 cats from this colony sterilised now. Unfortunately no one knows how many there are, so the traps stay set 🙈

The only humane way of saving the problem of overpopulation!
